The Grammy-award winning band Grupo Fantasma is a nine-piece musical institution from Austin, Texas specializing in a vibrant fusion which it calls Latin-Funk. The band is best known for it's association with Prince and has performed and toured nationally and internationally since 2000. The Wall Street Journal has described their sound as 'music both new and traditional... vibrant fusions that transcend easy classification.' The group's music has been featured in several high profile television shows including 'Breaking Bad,' 'Weeds,' 'Law & Order' and 'Ugly Betty' and the band has also appeared on Austin City Limits and as the backing band for Prince on the nationally televised Alma Awards. Their 6th album, 'Problemas,' is the follow up to the Grammy-award winning 'El Existential' and was produced by multi-Grammy award winner Steve Berlin of Los Lobos and recorded by Jim Eno of acclaimed Austin Indie group Spoon.
